03 — How We Work

Measured twice. Built once.

The same team measures your walls, draws your cabinets, mills the parts and installs the finished piece. No hand-offs between strangers — and nothing gets built until you've signed off on the drawings.

LEAD TIME : 6–10 WEEKS
DRAWINGS : SIGNED-OFF
FINISH : SPRAYED IN-HOUSE
INSTALL : OWN CREW
A — THE SIX STEPS

From tape measure
to final walkthrough.

Every project — a single vanity or a whole-home package — runs through the same six gates. You always know which one you're at.

STEP 01

Consult & measure

We come to you, laser-measure the space wall to wall, and talk honestly about budget before anyone falls in love with a rendering. You leave the first meeting knowing roughly what your project costs — not a vague "it depends."

WEEK 0 · AT YOUR HOME · FREE
STEP 02

Design & 3D

We model your cabinetry in the actual room — real dimensions, real door swings, real ceiling heights. You walk through the space before it exists, open virtual drawers, and change your mind while it's still free to do so.

WEEK 1–2 · 3D MODEL · REVISIONS INCLUDED
STEP 03

Shop drawings & sign-off

The design becomes fully dimensioned shop drawings — every panel, hinge bore and reveal, on paper, in millimetres. You review, we adjust, you sign. Nothing hits the saw until you've approved exactly what's being built.

STEP 04

Fabrication

Parts are cut, edged and bored on our own machines in our Toronto shop — dovetailed drawer boxes, sequence-matched veneers, hardware from Blum and Hettich. Held to ±0.5 mm, because the install depends on it.

WEEK 3–7 · OUR SHOP · ±0.5 MM

STEP 05

Finish & cure

Doors and panels are sprayed in-house with catalyzed conversion varnish — the finish factory kitchens get, not brushed-on paint that chips by spring. Every piece cures fully before it goes anywhere near your walls.

WEEK 7–8 · SPRAY BOOTH · CONVERSION VARNISH

STEP 06

Install & walkthrough

The people who built your cabinets install them — scribed to your walls, levelled to your floor, doors aligned to the millimetre. Then we walk the job with you, fix anything you spot, and leave the room clean enough to cook in that night.

WEEK 8–10 · OWN CREW · LEFT CLEAN

G-01 / ACCOUNTABILITY

One accountable team

Measure, design, build, install — same people end to end. When you call with a question, the person answering has stood in your kitchen.

G-02 / TOLERANCE

±0.5 mm tolerance

Parts are machined to half a millimetre so gaps stay even, doors stay aligned and drawers glide the same in year ten as on day one.

G-03 / WARRANTY

5-year warranty

Cabinetry, hardware and finish — covered for five years. If a hinge sags or a door drifts, we come back and make it right.

B — QUESTIONS

Asked at almost
every first meeting.

Straight answers to the four questions we hear most. Anything else — ask us at the consult.

Six to ten weeks from signed drawings to installed kitchen, depending on scope and finish. Design and drawings before that typically take two to three weeks. We give you a dated schedule at sign-off — and because fabrication, finishing and install are all ours, that date doesn't depend on somebody else's backlog.

Yes — happily. We build from architect and interior-designer drawings all the time. We convert them into our own dimensioned shop drawings, flag anything that won't survive contact with your actual walls, and send them back for approval before cutting. Your designer keeps the design intent; we take responsibility for making it buildable.

Almost every wall is — especially in older Toronto houses. That's why we laser-measure at the start and build scribe allowances into the cabinets. On install day our crew scribes fillers and panels to the real wall, so the run reads dead straight even when the plaster behind it isn't. It's the difference between custom work and boxes from a warehouse.

Simple and staged: a deposit at drawing sign-off to reserve your shop slot and order materials, a progress payment when fabrication is complete, and the balance after your final walkthrough — once you're happy, not before. Every stage is itemised on the quote, so there are no surprise extras at the end.
